This just occurred to me, and I had to post it before it left my head. The internet is a place where potentially anything and everything can exist; though, really, I suppose I'm not just talking about the internet but about computers in general. One can create anything on a computer, but the only way it has to interface with the real world is a printer- and as anyone who's ever tried to print a piece of CGI art knows, even the output of the best printers is crap compared to what you see on your screen. I may be totally off-base here, but his makes me think of Plato's Cave: the computer is quite literally a world of ideas, and all we can see of these ideas outside of the computer is what we can print- the shadows on the cave wall. Thoughts?
